From the shores of Surfers Paradise to the wide-open spaces of The Outback, the roads of Australia are now open for adventure in Forza Horizon 3. We’re proud to bring you our first monthly DLC pack for the game – The Smoking Tire Car Pack – featuring seven new-to-Forza vehicles that are bound to inspire new adventures Down Under.

First up is the amazing Vulcan hypercar from Aston Martin; a car whose outer beauty is unmistakable, but can best be appreciated behind the wheel. In the wings are supercars from around the world, including the ultimate expression of Pagani’s famed Huayra hypercar and BMW’s latest M-class masterpiece. Then we have the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, a true cop-car that is ready to give chase or power you to victory in a circuit race. If that isn’t enough, the classic Jeep CJ5 has arrived ready for all that Australia’s back country can dish out.

The Smoking Tire Car Pack is the first monthly car pack to arrive in the Forza Horizon 3 Car Pass, which is available as a separate purchase or as part of the Ultimate Edition of Forza Horizon 3. For one low price, you can get access to all six of the DLC packs that will be arriving in the game from this October through March 2017. That’s 42 vehicles total, representing the kind of automotive variety and fun you expect from a Forza game. The Smoking Tire Car Pack is also available as a standalone purchase for $7 in the Xbox Store.

Now let’s take a closer look at the cars in the pack.

2016 Aston Martin Vulcan

For the record, the “Vulcan” name here is more closely related to Britain’s loud Cold War-era bombers than to the notoriously logical aliens in “Star Trek”. Nonetheless, the Vulcan is Aston Martin’s entry into the hypercar market, and there will only be 24 of these track-only vehicles built. Those lucky enough to accept the offer of purchase will find 800 hp ready to thrill from the race-inspired V12. The asking...

Motorsports offer an important way to convey the excitement of driving, and are at the heart of Toyota’s efforts to foster a greater following of car fans and enthusiasts. Conducting these activities under the umbrella of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing allows Toyota to develop its people and improve its products, thereby contributing to the creation of “ever-better cars”. Under the leadership of Team Principal Tommi Mäkinen, Toyota is developing a rally vehicle scheduled to begin competing in 2017.

Using Microsoft technology, Toyota wants to maximize its competitiveness in WRC, whilst ensuring that learnings from the race course can be used to achieve the company’s vision of designing and manufacturing “ever-better cars”.

Microsoft will support TOYOTA GAZOO Racing in three key areas:
  • Development of a data analysis platform to gather, visualize and analyse various data related to driving which will be utilised in race activities.
  • Creation of a team information-sharing system to allow team members to collaborate and share various materials such as images and videos efficiently and effectively using a cloud service.
  • Enhancement of communication with fans through providing services utilizing the cloud and using Microsoft’s display devices to provide them with a front-row motorsports experience.

Today’s announcement builds on the existing partnership between Toyota and Microsoft. Most recently, the two companies collaborated on the establishment of Toyota Connected, a new user experience and product-development company aimed at expanding, collecting and analysing large...

The wait is finally over for the latest installment in the Gymkhana series, starring race car driver Ken Block! Created by Hoonigan Industries in partnership with Hoonigan Racing Division, Gymkhana NINE Raw Industrial Playground draws inspiration from the Forza Horizon series of videogames, recreating the daring tricks and race events that only existed virtually until now.

“With Forza Horizon, our goal is to create the ultimate celebration of speed, style and freedom behind-the-wheel,” said Ralph Fulton, Creative Director. “What players get to do in the game – such as race an opponent whose vehicle is suspended from a fast-moving helicopter – are so incredible that they could probably never happen.”

Gymkhana-9-Helo-Truck-11.jpg

Recreating these larger-than-life showcase events became the inspiration and challenge for Ken Block and his team. “Taking those ideas and figuring out how to do them in reality is really quite difficult,” said Block, who faced not only stationary obstacles but large moving objects such as a freight train all while moving at high speed.

“Since the beginning, Forza’s mission has been to turn gamers into car lovers, and car lovers into gamers,” said Dan Greenawalt, Creative Director at Turn 10. “Right now there are few people out there that are doing more to spread the love of cars and car culture than Ken Block. We’re thrilled to be working together with him on this project.”

The Gymkhana NINE partnership between Forza and Hoonigan means more then just Forza Horizon 3 logos appearing on Ken Block's car. There will be Forza Horizon 3 branded behind-the-scenes content and also Hoonigan designed cars will make their way into the game itself. Stay tuned for more on that soon!

Gymkhana NINE also extends the Forza partnership with Ford Performance. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor which appears in...

Forza Horizon 3 launches globally for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on Sept. 27 (Sept. 29 in Japan) and those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition will drive early on Sept. 23. However, you won’t need to wait long to begin your Australian adventure, because the free Forza Horizon 3 demo launches today on Xbox One!

In Forza Horizon 3, you’re the boss of the Horizon Festival – the biggest and best cars and music festival in the world. Your goal is to expand the festival to new locations throughout Australia and you’ll get your first taste of what that experience is like in the demo. Along the way, you’ll be able to explore a portion of Forza Horizon 3’s map, while taking a guided tour through some of the best features that the game has to offer.

preview_05.jpg preview_06.jpg preview_07.jpg

Your tour Down Under begins in classic Horizon fashion – with beautiful scenery, great driving roads, and awesome vehicles. From the moment the action begins, you are unmistakably in Australia, with all of its awe-inspiring beauty and tremendous environmental diversity. You’ll blast along ocean-side roads, and race on the beach alongside the famed Twelve Apostles landmarks. You’ll grab ludicrous air off of danger sign jumps buried deep in the Australian rainforests, and have a chance to get sideways through Drift Zones in Byron Bay. Once you’ve finished all the events in the demo, you’ll be able to hop online and join your fellow Forza friends in an online free-roam session to explore the demo’s map together.

preview_08.jpg preview_09.jpg preview_10.jpg

The drivable vehicles in the Forza Horizon 3 demo are a “who’s who” of automotive hotness. Of course, you’ll be spending time in one of the game’s cover cars, the Lamborghini Centenario. Along the way you’ll also get to drive more than one...

PARK CITY, UTAH — Hoonigan Racing Division’s Ken Block is pleased to announce that in less than one week, his ninth installment in his 400 million-view viral video franchise, Gymkhana, will be going live on Ford Performance’s YouTube channel.

The video will star both Block and his all-new for 2016 Ford Focus RS RX that he currently races in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The video will be the second in the series hosted by Ford Performance and also marks the introduction of a new partner to the globally celebrated franchise: Microsoft’s Forza Horizon XBox videogame series.

g91.png

“This definitely is the rawest Gymkhana video that I’ve done in a long time,” said Block. “We really took it back to the basics like in the original Gymkhana video and put the emphasis on my driving and on the car. I’m really excited about this one! It’s got my new racecar, it’s me bringing it back to a more on-the-limit and visceral driving style and with my new partner in Forza Horizon 3, we were able to bring in some inspiration from the game to this video. I think the fans are going to be stoked when this drops on the 13th.”

Gymkhana NINE will be live on the Ford Performance YouTube channel on Sept. 13 at 8 a.m. EST. Be sure to set your calendars and tune in.

We’ve reached an important milestone in the development of Forza Motorsport 6: Apex – as of today, we’re lifting the “beta” tag and releasing Apex as a full-fledged (and still free!) product on the Windows 10 Store. As we exit the beta period of Forza Motorsport 6: Apex development, it’s also time to update players about an issue that many of you have been talking about since the announcement of the game: wheel support.

We’re extremely excited to announce that today’s content update for Apex will bring wheel support to the Forza Motorsport series on Windows 10 for the first time. This is a major landmark for the Forza series on Windows 10 and has been the result of months of hard work from the Turn 10 and Windows teams.

With today’s update, we’re bringing support for a number of popular wheels to the Forza franchise, in Apex and the soon to be released Forza Horizon 3.

This is the full list:
•Logitech G27 Racing Wheel
•Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
•Logitech G29 Racing Wheel
•Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel
•Thrustmaster T300RS
•Thrustmaster T500 RS Gaming Wheel
•Logitech G920 Xbox One Wheel
•Thrustmaster T150
•Thrustmaster TX Xbox One Wheel
•Thrustmaster TMX Xbox One Wheel
•Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback Racing Wheel

Note that there are additional wheels that we plan on bringing on board soon, notably Fanatec products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the Fanatec CSR models. Support for these Fanatec wheels will be arriving in Apex beginning in late September, with updates for both Windows 10 and Apex. In addition, H-pattern shifters are fully supported in Apex for all Logitech wheels listed above, except for the G29, which will be added at a later date. We will be adding additional support for H-pattern shifters from other manufacturers in the future.

By adding wheel support to Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, we continue to work towards our goal of improving the Apex experience for players and making racing better on Windows 10. We...

The worldwide release of Forza Horizon 3 is coming up on Sept. 27 (and four days earlier on Sept. 23 for Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition owners), and today we crossed the latest milestone ahead of launch: Forza Horizon 3 has officially gone gold! With the game off for final pressings of retail discs and setup for digital release, we’re celebrating the good news with some additional updates, including Windows 10 PC specs, the full Xbox Live achievements list, and a very special addition to the Forza Horizon 3 vehicle roster.

Welcome the Warthog
Over the past six weeks, in our Forza Garage series, we’ve introduced all of the 350+ vehicles that will be arriving for Forza Horizon 3 at launch. Well, almost all of the them. Today, we’re unveiling a unique addition to the Forza Horizon 3 lineup, a vehicle that has long been requested by both the Forza and Halo communities. For the first time in any Forza game, you can now drive the most famous ground vehicle in the Halo universe – the Warthog!

The 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST is a civilian transport alternative to its militaristic cousin, the M12 Force Application Vehicle. What it may lack in brute force – you won’t find a turret on this version – it more than makes up for with its 720 bhp twin turbo V8, making it significantly faster than its FAV counterpart. The Warthog CST in Forza Horizon 3 is also ideally suited for the rough and tumble landscape of Australia. With the most advanced suspension in Forza Horizon 3 (with more than 70 cm of suspension travel), plus advanced dampening, you won’t find the combination of power and stability like this anywhere else in the Horizon Festival.

M12S-Warthog-CST_WM_FH31.jpg M12S-Warthog-CST-Back-Shot_WM_FH31.jpg

The M12S Warthog CST will be available at launch for Forza Horizon 3, and will be sent as a free download to everyone who has played either Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. Eligible players...
