Hello everyone,

As you may know, Dunlop is organising a design contest for their JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia GT every year. The design from the winner will be featured at the 24H of Le Mans, on the real car. This year the Dunlop sponsored JMW Motorsport won their first race in the 2012 European Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard.

My brother submitted a design. The more likes he get, the greater the chance is he will be the winner. So please help my brother in achieving his goal.

"For the Dunlop Art Car Competition 2012 I tried to make the JMW Ferrari 458 Italia GT a true and proper Dunlop racing car. My focus was first laid mostly on exploring. Mainly it was about getting a good understanding of the Dunlop brand and how I could blend it with the Ferrari. It didn’t took me long to figure out that Dunlop’s figurative mark is a fingerprint combined with a tire track. This is the reason why I thought that this figurative mark should get the most attention. Most racing drivers claim they become one with their car. Therefore they feel every bump on the track and are literally connected with the circuit. They feel the road. This is the main reason why the figurative mark is designed over the driver’s cockpit. Furthermore, I wanted to design the other decals of this car as basic and minimum as possible, but without the loss of recognition. The findings of my research, in combination with progressing insight, had led to this design for the Dunlop Art Car Competition 2012. Please feel free to give me any comments about my design."

All right I am very good friends with a local GameStop and they are going to be giving away a Porsche dlc. Here are the rules!( sorry u will need to be in the USA for this event)

1. Your canvas will be a 2011 RUF Rt12 S. u will need to design a GameStop car design. note the gamestop store number is 3203 and this needs to be included in the design.

2. U are allowed 2 entries when submitting u must include your design on the storefront along with your name so we can view them. U are more than welcome to post pics and videos here on the build of ur designs but only ones on the storefront under your name will be judged.

3. All entry's must be submitted by may 19 2012. All entry's will then be judged by the game stop employes on may 20 2012 and a winner will be picked. The winner will then receive the dlc on may 22 2012. The winner can send a big shot of there winning car design and it with be printed off and displayed in the store if u wish

Entrys close Saturday, May 12. whenever I have a computer within reach (wich should be around 9AM GMT).

99.9...% of Forza tuners agree that camber should be tuned in such a way that the tyres are evenly warm throughout after a couple of laps, and so do I, but lately I have started to question if it is really the best way to do it.

The Forza 4 telemetry also seems to disagree with that. Take a car that was camber-tuned the "traditional" way and go round a few corners, and you'll notice that the outside of the tyres is heating up at a faster rate than the inside. That happens at least to me, and I've seen some laps where that happens as well.

Now, what I understand of this is that all the load is being dumped on the outside of the tyre, and not being evenly distributed. If you paid close attention to Physics, Pirelli and Performance, it said that the tyres start losing grip after a certain amount of load.

Plus, there's tyre flex, which may or may not mean that parts of the tyre may not be even in contact with the road.

Real racing cars also seem to use considerably higher amounts of camber, when compared to Forza-tuned cars. Take this, an '09 WTCC Chevrolet Cruze as an example:


You can see that the tyres have considerably more negative camber than what's the norm (-1.2º tops for most tracks?)

If Race (07?)'s figures are correct, these cars run about -2.5º of camber on the front.

I know that camber is dynamic, and that when the suspension compresses, the negative camber increases, but for stiff, race cars, the increase is probably not enough for the usual tuning method. Or so I think.

Anyway, I did some (very unscientific) tests around a few tracks, and came to the following conclusion:

-When I tuned camber to allow the outside and the inside of the tyres to warm up at the same rate (which is how I think it should be tuned), I was from .1 s faster to sometimes a whole second faster than when tuning the usual way. The most dramatic results were at Suzuka and Infineon.

I have asked this question to my club's tuners, and all they replied with was "the outside of the tyres never gets warm enough, so there's no grip there". And I have to agree, partially, because then another question came up:
-Which is best: having evenly warm tyres, so that, even if it they aren't used thoroughly, what happens to be used has grip, or having as much tyre available when cornering, even if it means that parts of it aren't warm enough?

That is something I still do not know, sadly.

These are the results of some tests I did around Tsukuba Full on an A-600 Lexus IS-350.
The car has mid-stiff suspension and ARBs, tuned to be as neutral as possible before tuning the camber. Toe and caster weren't tuned for this experiment.

Another test I made (although not as thorough) was with a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 at Infineon Raceway Full.

(1st Scenario) With -1.2º F and -0.8 R, the recommended amount for even temperatures, I set a 1:41.3.

(2nd Scenario) With -2.0º F and -1.6 R, I set a 1:40.0 (-1.3s).

The car tended to lose the front-end more easily at high-speed turn in in the first case scenario than on the second. Plus, on the second scenario, there was less tyre squeal and an overall sense of more cornering force being generated. The setup's similar to the IS.

I play with a controller.

Anyway, I'd like to know your opinion on this, and also I'd like you to answer these questions (and the ones above ;)):
-How do you tune camber?
-Have you even considered to test higher angles than the usual amount? If no, why?
-If you did, how did the car feel? And, were you faster?
-Most importantly, do you agree with all this rambling? If not, why?

Hello everyone!

This is a strange requests but if someone has a lot of extra time and would like to help. I would like to have screenshots from the Rhys Millen Racing Veloster in Forza 4. No screenshots needed from exterior only from interior. Most important would be a close up from the dashboards TFT display, the one that shows RPM, speed, gear etc. If someone has time every detail from the cockpit would be more than helpful.

The reason for me not doing this is simple I do not have the console or the game. Photos will be only used for personal use as reference with real pictures for 3d modeling purpose.

Best option would be that photos would be somewhere as downloadable or as gallery. If you have more questions you may contact also via e-mail or PM.

Hey guys, i'm new here but i'm not new to Forza, or real photography. I dont usually take random shots, pretty much all my work is done in sets/shoots. I also try to name the set to go with the feel/theme I was going for. I'll put my last few sets up, as well as some of my favourites, so you can get a taste of what you can expect in the future :D


I made this paint from scratch, and if you were thinking 'Midnight Purple', you'd be correct. It is, in my opinion, a very accurate recreation of Nissan's greatest paint, Midnight Purple III. If you want it, let me know and we can work something out. I wont charge anyone for it, it just took a long time to get it right, and I dont want to go handing out the 'paint code' to anyone.
