Looks sweet. I had FC2, but never finished it. I should pick it up again since it is pretty cheap.

It was like $15 when I picked it up 2 years ago... Should be pretty cheap now...

This is a slightly different demo:
    Far Cry 3 E3 2011 Stage Demo (Xbox 360) - GameSpot Video

Have played Far Cry 2 a few times myself. Love that game. True, the malaria attacks can be very annoying when you get them in moments you need to be fully functional. And those posts to posts fights can be tying too. In many cases though you can avoid them by driving around them. Or just dash through and don't look back. In worst case you get cornered by three or four occupied assault trucks between two guard posts. What I loved to do is pack my vehicle full with explosives, drive full throttle toward a guard post and bail out before I'm in. The vehicle keeps rolling. And when it is in the middle of the post, I blow up their whole ****. And man, do explosions look good an are loud in Far Cry 2. It lights up the whole screen.

Edit: found two interviews you might want to see:

This game has amazing potential. Far Cry 2 was great for while, then it just got really repetitive with some peculiar A.I. habits and lack of non-combative characters.

Should be interesting to see how this develops. FC 2 did nothing for me, despite the stellar graphics.

Another Far Cry 3 video. This time in-game footage.
Love the improvement of the weapon sounds. The pistol sounds beefy, the AK47 new and clean. But am not too happy how the turret sounds. Looks very promissing though.

What the heck happened to the Far Cry thread I once created?!
However here is a Pax multiplayer trailer. Love the look and sounds of the weapons.

Because anything is better than the MP that was in FC2. Looks to me more like the MP from MOH, but they're pretty similar anyway.

Anyway, I'm liking the look of it.

I liked the MP in FC2. There were a few bad things like the unbalanced weapons and the hosts that seemed to never want to start a match unless there were 16 players, but it was still enjoyable.
I am liking the look of this though. I read a preview somewhere else where they were describing one of the multiplayer modes called Firestorm, where each team has to ignite the others fuel supplies. Once one team has started a firestorm in the other ones base a radio in the middle of the map becomes active and can be used to either call in a plane to completely obliterate the other base or drop water to douse the flames on your own base. Hopefully there will be a video of that game mode in action up soon.

CryEngine 3 is indeed beautiful, however Crytek no longer have a hand in Far Cry. Far Cry 3 is using the Dunia engine.

This is a great video showing the open world of Far Cry 3 and what you can do.

Oooh, this is anther game I played at the Eurogamer Expo - MY GOD IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

Everything you see in videos with the cinematic style knife kills, you can actually do in the real game.

If you loved the look and the atmosphere of the original Far Cry (FC2 was crap IMO), then you'll love this.

The one good thing I liked about what I played was that you don't see ANY of the map until you capture radio towers, after you do this a small portion of the map is revealed so you know where you can go for missions etc. - I thought it was a pretty good touch!

This is another great video I found, showing the gorgeous Amanaki village and a bunch of seldom campaign footage.

I truly hope they will make an Xbox One version with PC graphics. Love this game. Would love to play it in the best way. Am playing it through for the 4th time now. And am not gettin' tired of it. They only should build in a task generator. For when the game it completed. So it never gets boring. So that randomly those reward quests pop
