I think this sums it up right here. EDIT: y'all seriously, I have got to give a slow clap to T10 for their handling of DLC in FM4. They actually seem to be taking it seriously this time; they finally understand that this game has legs. This time of year during the end of the FM3 cycle we were kinda left hanging. The fact that we're even talking about DLC going past August (with another title looming on the... you know) is amazing. EDIT 2: Just looked at the previous game's (still WIP?) DLC list... apparently they got one in July and then it was radio silence until the FUC came out in October. So there's half a possibility that they might stick to the same schedule, but the content this time around is still better.
All game trailers are just as bad. But yeah, the FM4 trailers use a lot of post processing effects to look fancy.
Graphically? Really? For me it's mostly the fancy in car shots that we can't replicate, or the nice camera angles that we don't get in the game, because the funbag doing them in Forza rather has some utterly stupid "fly-around-the-car-at-200-mph-camera". I also wanna poke my eyes out whenever I see a GT car drifting.
Well I don't doubt it's using the in-game engine, yes. But they're using dev assets and gizmos (backfires, sure, but specifically camera angles and filters) that we're not allowed to touch in-game. They DO add post-effects to the sound, tho. I dunno, I haven't ever been let down by one of their trailers yet.
This pack is pretty great. Finally the McLaren GT3. Bring on the liveries. If someone hasn't done/transferred the 24hr Nurb Gemballa one, I'll do it. Also, big shoutout to you guys who sent me some cash, cars, and tunings to get me going after starting over. You guys are awesome. If anyone has any extra R Class cars you'd be willing to part with, I'll take 'em.
I can't remember what class cars I sent you yesterday, but next time I'm on FM4 I'll send you over a few R's
I was relating to the camera angles etc. Graphically the game is fine with me. Could do with a GT5 style photo mode though... Atleast GT5 photo quality for FM5.
I wonder upon release of this pack how many nano seconds will pass before someone turns the KZ1R into an A10, as looks wise they're not too far removed from one another
If I could change one thing, I'd swap the SLK for the DS4. Did we figure out what replaced it? I imagine it's the Ascari.
While I imagine the DS4 would've made a better choice (it's a completely new car), I wouldn't kick the facelifted SLK out of my driveway or anything. I mean yeah we have the old one, but whatever.
The 2003 CLK DTM would've been a better choice over that SLK IMO especially as we had the old model already. So
There's a Venturi 300 Atlantique just down the street from where I work, looks so sweet. That's a manufacturer I would love to see in FM.
I love that Lotus is finally getting some attention, with the Cortina and now, the Eleven. I do wonder if we're getting an Elite and a Europa...
As much as I love the classics, every time they add a new one (or two - the Jag and Lotus) it sets back the start of my club's Vintage LeMans series. Not that I'm complaining. Not at all!
So what are we thinking for class, S or R3? I'm thinking R3 although I would much prefer it be in S so it could be raced against the 458, F430 S, MP4-12C, SLS AMG, R8 5.2, LFA, ZR1, 911 GT2 RS, RGT-8, Gallardo and Gallardo S. The Lamborghini LP-570 S is R3 and it has just a bit more HP, 570 vs the 520 of the KZ1-R and the Ascari is a road going racer basically so that's what makes me nervous it will be in R3.
With the surprise and welcome appearance of a new Spiker I was curious what other Spiker cars people would like to see, if you could only see one more what would it be? For me I would like to see one of the GT race cars.
I would love to have any year CLK DTM. Last time I drove one in a game was TDU1 and even then it was a blast to drive.
It's an acquired taste, but I really would not mind seeing it. I'd like more trucks/SUVs. It has a GM V8, right?
Hunh, I was just comparing the Ascari A10 to the KZ1-R and either I forgot or this is something I never realized until now but I see the A10 has more HP, 625 vs 520. I guesss the power reduction comes from the new car being derived from the GT3 race car and the power restrictions in the GT3 series when it raced?
The D8 prototype made it into TDU2, but I believe its production prospects are on shaky ground after Spyker buying Saab and losing their shirts.
@Jamesways: Count on my good pal Simon Biggs (CMGraphix) to have it up very soon. I'll be working my way through the Blancpain entries for a week or two
And Porsche? They have sold around 25k expantion packs which is not a lot if you count the 2.5 millions users, has been enough to justify the license price? at the momment they have made less than 500.000 usd. I really how we keep Porsche and right out of the box in the next Forza.
I keep hearing the agreement they hammered out with Porsche and EA should last for at least the next few titles. It'd be tough to calculate an immediate return on investment, mostly because we don't know the terms of the agreement. It's likely EA held them over a barrel, but for how much?
The thing I would love to have been a fly on the wall to have overheard during the negotiations is why we did not get the 911 GT1 Strassenversion. I can understand dropping a lot of the different livery race cars but am stumped about the 911.
Yes that what i heard from Badned and Skatezilla before but i remember reading another comment of Badned here or in Neogaf about them still negotiating and that nothing was sure...
Yeah, I'm happy with any Mercedes, but the CLK-DTM is highest on that list, followed by G65 AMG and S65 AMG. The car in the picture is not the CLK-DTM though. That's an actual DTM car. I think you're referring to this: This car is in PGR4 btw. A lot of cars from PGR4 has carried over into Forza. I wonder if this was ever considered for Forza 4?
I really wonder what the PI ratings of the new cars are, especially the classics. I'm thinking... Hudson: mid E Lotus: low E AMC: low-mid F Jaaaaaag: mid-high E
I'm gonna go ahead and call the Big Mac at R3 740. That's pretty much the figure that all the GT3 cars hover around.
I'm so happy with the mighty McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Can't wait to drive it on tuesday against the SLS GT3, Z4 GT3, R8 LMS and the Porsche 911 Cups (as there aren't any GT3s). The only thing that is missing is Spa Francorchamps.
I'll guess the Lotus will be a mid to High C-Class to match up with the DBR1, Type D Jag, 250 TR, etc.
Two scenarios in my opinion, either EA blocked it or MS/T10 decided to hold the GT1 back for possible inclusion in Forza 5 along with Spa and Bathurst. Also what about the highly requested Porsche 917?? Open to interpretation but in this interview Mike Caviezel says "And I LOVE racing the old-school Porsche 917 racecar around the Nurburgring." http://www.tracktimeaudio.com/?p=207
In case anyone's having trouble finding good liveries for the Lotus, it was sold as a kit car a handful of years later, called the Westfield XI. I remember EVO doing a write-up on it, that's how I remember. Pic unrelated:
I know what you mean, but I'm super excited with the Jaguar XK120: it's a proper British classic. I really like it that Turn10 have started adding classic British roadsters.
No, i actually mean Bad in the Lotus sense of the word xD because i had a brain fart and because of the color i think in jaguar instead of Lotus, thats the ugly car, the Jaguar is cute nice
Absolutely superb Pack, loving the British additions over the last two. Please don't stop there T10, tell them PG!
^ yeah .. if we could get the great classics like Alpines and classic Bugatties not the shitty dumb hatches (mostly)
About the Strassenversion, BADNED said they held it back for later release, because we kept demanding it.
Like the pack. Looking forward to make the Gremlin a worthy but crazy drag monster. Feel a little bit sorry for Turn 10. They put a lot of work in these packs. And can bet on it, there will always be some notorious nay-sayers who always and all time have something negative to say. Is very ungrateful towards the efforts put into this great and fun game. The AI is often hopeless though. I have this "Street Fighter" of a supercar, and the AI managed to come in 8th on the Indianapolis track in R3 class. Where I am 1st before the first corner. Really wish us our Drivaters back!!!
I'm kinda bummed as well. With the exception of maybe 2 or 3 cars, France doesn't make anything really interesting at the moment. But every big car-country in Forza has their classics, except France. Forza makes it look like France has never built anything nice. I mean the Renault sport spider, A110 Alpine, Citroen DS, SM, 2CV and a Delahaye MS135 with different body styles, preferably Figoni & Falaschi.
