In the next month or so I am possibly going to be hosting a handful of series to include: 50's LeMans 60's LeMans 70's Trans Am Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge Series These won't be fixed tune series, but the builds will be limited to "Sport" suspension components to put more emphasis on driving and less on tuning. Hopefully, this will be some great racing for everyone from the novice to the veteran. I'll post a link to my site once I get some finishing touches up, but I'd like to gauge interest here (so I can hopefully avoid recruiting on FM.net ).
I spent some time last night working on the builds for the Continental Tire Series. I'm going through the Grand-Am regs to get the specific limitations on each car (weight, tire size, etc), then applying a generic formula to determine the appropriate power to weight ratio, all while comparing the overall stats to ensure they match up. On paper. Then comes the actual on-track testing. Once I have the GS class sorted, the ST class should be easy. Should be. Hopefully. Please, God, let it be!
And I guess I'll throw this topic out there for folks to comment on. Please feel free to offer an opinion even if you don't intend to run in any of the series I will be hosting. As an organizer, I have run series that were weekly where people got tired of running the same cars week after week. I've also run series where the races were more spread out (i.e. once a month or every other week). This allowed for more variety so folks didn't get bored running the same cars over and over, but seemed to get a bit overwhelming with having to prepare a different car every week. Which do you, personally, prefer and why?
LOL Dirty I was just going to put up the VLMS to gain interest. I'm glad I saw this post before I did. Where are you going to run it? Here or back on Realistic?
After some of the personal attacks I've endured, I started putting together another SITE. It's still in development, but feel free to take a look. I'm taking my time with it since I'm trying to better balance my time spent offline with time spent online. The only series I've come close to finalizing the builds for is the Continental Tire Series. It will be better than what I had running. I even sorted out a build for the ZL1 Camaro (via removing the supercharger), but I haven't posted it yet.
The sites coming along nicely. Let me know when its up and running. We'll talk on XBL soon about that other stuff.
