Well, i thought of opening some sort of blog here as there is a place for it anyway. It all started a year ago, got my first car. A 106 S1 Rallye. Had a S2 engine (1.6 instead of 1.3) with 1.3 head + intake manifold and a chip. Great car to drive! Then i gave it it's Rallye glory back: But then the head gasket decided to go on a holiday... Massive coolant leak into the cilinders... Off it went to get the head revised. Got it back, and 2 months later i got unlucky... Woman didn't see me as i was behind a truck, so she decided to turn onto the intersection... 106 S1 Rallye: Totalled. So i sold it to some guy who fixed it up. Month later i was on the internet searching for a new car... A S2 Rallye. Totally stock, only a 2" Pugsport exhaust (de-cat) which sounds brilliant. Then i did what i never had the ability to do with the S1 Rallye, drive the Nürburgring. Then it was time for some modifications... - Airbox + Green Filter - Simota Oil Catchcan - 4-2-1 TA Technix Manifold - -35mm Eibach springs at the front - 106 GTI fans (2 instead of one) And also fitted the original Rallye striping to give this one it's glory back. Also put back the Rallye inserts in the front bumper instead of extra lights. Sound video: Yesterday i went to a dyno meeting. At the Wheels: 103.0 bhp @5763.4 rpm 137.7 nm @ 5143.8 rpm At the crank 122 bhp / 162 nm, stock is 103bhp / 132nm. Quite an improvement! Thanx guys! It even made it's way onto Speedhunters: http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/06/thursday-shoutout-june-21-2012/
Meanwhile i've had my fair bit of not being so lucky: It broke down in the middle of Monaco. Just died and wouldn't start anymore. Had it towed and repaired. Top Dead Point Sensor was dead. After a week i could pick it up again and it was working perfectly again. Then i got spotted in Monaco Some random pics: (Yah 106 Rallye combo yo!) Driving it on the mountain roads in Switzerland/Italy and France was great fun. Can't think of a car i've driven that gives me so much driving fun. Also, ordered a lower strut brace last week. Arrived this weekend, now need time to fix it. Then i will only have 5cm clearance left, nightmare.
I wish we got it in Horizon Atleast we got the 205 T16! I'll quickly update this: Lower strutbar fitted. Great for a work-out. Everything out... New seats and 4-point harnesses in!
I see you left the rear seat belts in. Yeah, you never know when your mother in-law comes with you for a ride.
Milestone. Quickshift. Got it second-hand so it needed a clean-up. Will be going in when i get a proper gear knob.
Engine bay is getting a proper make over this winter. Tidy everything up and make it look nice. New valve cover and a ECU cover. Still a lot to do...
Well the cage never arrived. Got scammed but got the money back eventually... Got some new parts. Peugeot Sport front shocks, new rear beam with Group A bushes, Group N gear linkages and some other small stuff. It's a little lower all around now. Went to the Nürburgring last weekend: GoPro footage: Trackview: All in had a lot of fun. New suspension parts are awesome! Oh, and tried the topspeed on the way home. Did a little over 220kmh on the cluster, GPS showed 214kmh, which is around 133mph. Pretty damn fast for such a little car.
